Mind Detective: IQ Puzzles
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
- You don't need an account. We never ask for your email, phone number or real name.
- Your game (progress, detective name, avatar and settings) is saved only on your phone.
- To fix crashes and improve the game, the app sends usage and crash data that isn't linked to your name.
- No ads, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
Mind Detective: IQ Puzzles ("Mind Detective", "the app") is made by Muhammad Waqas ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy or your data, email waqas.devhub@gmail.com.
What stays on your phone
The app saves your game on your device: your detective name and avatar, the starting level you picked, your stars, times and crowns, your Daily Case results and streak, the clues and magnifiers you used, items from the Star Shop, and your settings.
This saved game stays on your phone, and we can't see it. To improve the game, Google Analytics for Firebase receives how your levels go and some of your choices (listed below), but never your detective name or avatar. If backups are turned on, your phone may include your saved game in your own Google or iCloud backup. Deleting the app, or clearing its storage, deletes it.
What the app sends, and why
The app uses these services from Google's Firebase. The Android app uses all three; the iPhone app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics.
- Google Analytics for Firebase shows us how the game is used, for example how many people play, which levels are too hard, and whether players come back. It collects app activity (such as the app being opened, screens viewed and time spent playing) and game events: how each level and Daily Case went (such as which case it was, its type and difficulty, which go at it this was, stars, clues used, wrong answers and time), leaving a case unfinished, asking to be shown an answer, your first solve, running out of magnifiers, finishing a world, items you buy with stars in the Star Shop, the starting level you picked, how far you got through first-time setup and the walkthrough, a Daily Case streak ending, opening the app from a reminder, tapping Share, and turning the daily reminder on or off (and whether you allowed notifications).
- So we can tell, for example, whether a level is hard for everyone or only for new players, Google Analytics for Firebase is also told a few things about how your game is going, and attaches them to the events above: the starting level you picked, roughly how many levels you've passed and how long your streak is (as ranges, such as "6-15" levels or a "3-6" day streak), the furthest world you've reached, whether the daily reminder is on and when it's set for, and whether cheer-ups are on. Never your detective name or avatar.
- Google Analytics for Firebase also collects where the app was installed from (such as Google Play or the App Store), your device model, operating system, app version and language, and your approximate location (your country or region, worked out from your internet address, never your exact location).
- Firebase Crashlytics sends a report when the app crashes, so we can fix it. A report includes technical details of the crash, your device model, operating system and app version, and the state of the device at the time (such as free memory and storage).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging lets us send you notifications, such as a reminder to solve the Daily Case or news about the game. To deliver them, it gives your copy of the app a random token. The token says nothing about you or your game, and it stops working when you uninstall the app.
They link this data to a random ID made for your copy of the app, not to you. Your detective name and avatar never leave your phone. The app doesn't use your phone's advertising ID, and it can't see your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or exact location.
We use this data only to fix problems, make the game better and send the notifications described here. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising. Google processes it for us as our service provider: see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy information.
How long it's kept
Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Detailed analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted; only overall totals (such as how many players finished a level) are kept after that.
Sharing your results
When you tap Share, the app makes a picture of your Daily Case result with a link to the app, and your phone's share menu sends it to the app and people you choose. We don't receive what you share; Analytics only notes that you tapped Share.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app reminds you once a day, at the time you pick in Settings, to solve the new Daily Case. This reminder is set up on your phone; Analytics only notes when you turn it on or off, and whether you allowed notifications. You can turn it off in Settings.
We may also send notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (see above), such as a Daily Case reminder or news about the game. You can turn off all of the app's notifications in your phone's settings.
Ads and purchases
The app has no ads and no in-app purchases. The Star Shop only uses stars you earn by playing. If we add ads or purchases, we'll update this policy before they appear in the app.
Children
Mind Detective is for players aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think we have collected information from a child under 13, email us and we'll take steps to delete it.
Your choices and rights
- To stop the app sending any data, uninstall it. Uninstalling also deletes your game from your phone.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to get a copy, or to have it deleted. Because the app has no accounts, the data we receive isn't linked to your name, so we may need your help to find it. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
Security
Data sent to Firebase is encrypted on its way (HTTPS) and stored on Google's servers.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
